Amity University Jaipur Organized ALF (Amity Leadership Fest) 2015

The spotlight annual event of Amity University Jaipur, Rajasthan - Amity Leadership Fest – was held from 23rd to 25th March, 2015 at Amity University Jaipur campus. The three days were packed with events which aims to bring out leader in every student was with full of fun, frolic and edifying. The whole campus turned in festive mood for three days with strong participation of more than 2000 students participating in various 66 events.

The students of Amity and various other colleges engaged in events that range from Leadership Challenges, Technical Skill Displays, Creative Contests, Cultural Performances and Exciting Sundowners.

The first day started with Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. S.K Dube declared the event open by balloon release ceremony along with other dignitaries, faculty members, student volunteers and participants. The main events held on the first day included Poetry competition, Business Plan and quiz, Creative Poster Designing, Solo Singing and Two Minutes to Fame etc. Apart from these debates on women empowerment floor became a platform for high power discussion on contemporary issues of gender equality and issues. The technical events like Chem E JEct, Junkyard Wards, LAN Gaming, Prototype, and Robo Line created buzz around the techies and gave immense eagerness for other students. Mocktail and Chef competition from hotel and hospitality department was blended to taste and creativity. The evening witnessed energetic dance competition and the fashion show.

The Moot Court Competition was the highlight of Day 2 of the Amity Leadership Fest. Many Senior law practitioners of Jaipur including Shri N.M.Ranka,( Senior advocate, Rajasthan high court),Anurag Sharma(Additional advocate general, Rajasthan High Court),Neeraj Bhamu(CJM), Girijesh Ozha(CJM), J.P.Sharma( Former District Judge),A.K.Sharma (Advocate), Yogesh Kumar Gupta(advocate), Rajneesh Gupta (Advocate Rajasthan High Court), Arun Sharma(Advocate Rajasthan High Court), Anshuman Saxena (Advocate Rajasthan High Court), Dinesh Garg (Advocate Rajasthan High Court),Madhu Gupta(Advocate Rajasthan High Court) attended the event . The Economic Quiz, RJ Hunt, Solo Dance, Web Designing, Tech Quiz, RC Car Race, Mine, Debugging and Comicon were other major events where participants engaged. The photography exhibition and competition were also inaugurated by Prof. Manish Verma, Director, ASCO which attracted and praised by the audience. The exhibition was open till the third day. Mr. Anish Nair (Lead Singer, Night Wings-III) graced the evening by his presence and judging the Rock Band competition. The young buds of Amity also rocked the show with special appearance during Child Fashion Show.

The third and final day was filled with a variety of events like Film Festival, Ad Mad, Treasure Hunt, Rangoli Designing, Psych Artists, Hair Styling and Potpourri. The sundowners of the final day were the perfect mix of trend, beats and energy. It started with the showcase fashion show by the students of Amity School of Fashion Technology. Later, the most awaited event of Amity Leadership Fest, War of DJ turned Amphi Theatre of Amity into a dance floor which spread energy and pulse among students. Popular DJ of Jaipur DJ Vaibhav Pareek was the judge of the event. The three days of Amity Leadership Fest 2015 became a memorable event for participants and audience.

Amity University Jaipur Celebrated 38th National Public Relations Day and Award Ceremony

Jaipur Chapter of Public Relations Society of India celebrated its 38th National PR Day and Award Ceremony.  The function was attended by top most PR and Media professionals of the city as well as faculties  and students from different universities.  On this occasion PR Excellence Awards were conferred to different persons of excellence belonging to PR fraternity.

This was the first time that an exclusive award for “Excellence in Teaching in PR and Communication” was introduced by the Jaipur Chapter of PRSI and it was conferred to Ms. Tanushri Mukherjee, Assistant Professor, Amity School of Communication. The award was given to her by Mr. Yashwant Vyas, Editorial Advisor, Amar Ujala Group, Mr. Rajendra Bhanawat, Social Thinker, Management Specialist and well known educationist, Mr. Anil Gupta, Director, Information & PR Department, Rajasthan, Mr. Mahendra Jain, Chairman, Jaipur Chapter of PRSI and Mr. Arun Joshi, Secretary, PRSI.

Ms. Mukherjee is a  top-performing, self-motivated and result-oriented teaching professional having 10 years teaching experience with comprehensive teaching skills, specially in the area of Public Relations, Corporate Communication and Event Management. She has been a very active faculty in the field of research too and has  many  Research Papers and Articles published in various Journals, Book of Proceedings and Souvenirs  dealing with different areas of Mass Media to her credit . She has also  bagged Certificate of Merit  and a Medal in the C.V Narasimha Reddi Gold Medallion National Award for the best PR Case Study, 2012 and a Certificate of Excellence in EET CRS 2ND Faculty Branding  Awards, 2014.

Amity School of Communication (ASCO) of  Amity University Rajasthan celebrated its first Public Relations Day. The day is celebrated as an important national event  by all professionals/Academia belonging to PR fraternity as a mark of respect towards the profession and some of the commendable efforts done by professionals of the field. The event began with a brief speech  related to the meaning, history and the ever expanding and developing field of PR. To make the day more memorable, there were a couple of activities lined up reflecting the various strategies and tools of this profession. The first among them was the staging of a Mock Press Conference by the students of the final semester of Masters Programme in Journalism and Mass Communication. The topic of the conference which dealt with “Online retail store ‘Myntra’ shutting down its website and moving its business to application base method” made the audience speechless.  It was followed by a screening of some of the very good Corporate Films made by the students of the Under Graduate Programme. 

The activity amply highlighted the growing significance of this Corporate Communication Tool as a major Branding Strategy. Commenting on the occasion, Prof.(Dr.) Manish Verma, Director, Amity School of Communication remarked that, “Such events organised by the students not only highlight the significance of the PR field  but it also at the same time encourages the students to do more practical work and more such types of activity in the field of PR. The screening was followed by some of the expert comments delivered by eminent faculty members of the school which guided the students to do their work in a more better manner and motivated them to work harder.

Guest Lecture by Silvia Costant


To keep students abreast with the latest and most advanced contemporary domains of international level a guest lecture on “Possibilities of Higher Studies and Career in Europe.” was organized by Amity System of communication Enhancement and Transformation (ASCENT) on March 19,2015. Silvia Costantini- the First Counsellor of European Union Delegation and the key speaker of the occasion, laid emphasis on the impact of globalization in the ever changing scenario of advanced studies. The lecture preceded by a warm welcome of the guests by Brig. G.S. Rathore (OSD to Hon’ble Chancellor) with presentation of mementos to the revered guests. Mrs. Sunita Choudhary, Coordinator Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha was heartily touched by the warm welcome of the Amity fraternity and epilogued to look forward for regular organizations of such intellectual events. The students enthusiastically participated in questionnaire session raising queries regarding scope of higher studies in Europe. The entire program was coordinated by Mrs Jasbeen Chawla, Assistant Director, ASCENT. Nearly 150 students got benefitted through this lecture. The programme concluded by the vote of thanks given by Brig. Rathore. The lecture has proven to be very inspiring and informative for the students.
